Milgram's Obedience Experiment
This video goes over the classic psychological experiment; Milgram's shocking obedience experiment.
The Milgram obedience experiment was the first and most infamous study on the authority bias, and was conducted in 1963 by Stanley Milgram, a professor of psychology at Yale University. In this experiment, participants were ordered to administer painful and potentially harmful electric shocks to another person.
The study showed the overwhelming majority of people would be obedient to an authority, even to the point of killing another, if they believe the authority will take responsibility for their actions. Of course, this belief does not preclude the responsibility for the individual choice made by the person.
